8 Unusual, Creepy Places to Stay On Halloween

Halloween is only round the corner and what better way to scare the pants off someone, by a stay in one of our creepy, unusual retreats. Our collection has been specifically selected for their association with this famous celebration and the macabre. Options include a night at a real-life crime scene, a film location for the endearing and popular vampire movie, Twilight or perhaps a converted chapel, complete with authentic graveyard. So are you brave enough!

Lizzie Borden Bed &Breakfast, Fall River, Massachusetts (MA), US Style: Real life crime scene Since the murders on August 4, 1892 the house has been a private residence. Now for the first time the public is allowed not only to view the murder scene, but is given an opportunity to spend a night (if you dare) in the actual house where the murders took place. Guests are treated to a breakfast similar to the one the Bordens ate on the morning of the murders, which includes bananas, jonny-cakes, sugar cookies and coffee in the addition to a delicious meal of breakfast staples. Lizzie Borden was a spinster in 19th century Massachusetts. She allegedly hacked her own father and stepmother to death with a hatchet. When the case came to court, Lizzie was acquited: the absence of blood evidence and a complete murder weapon allowed for reasonable doubt. No one else was ever brought to justice for this crime.
